What a tough little man you are! Today was your two-month checkup and you had to get three shots! Poor thing! You were asleep and I thought that it was pretty sad to stick you while you were dreaming … But it wasn’t like I could warn you real well or prepare you at two months old! I would have taken the shots for you of I could’ve, buddy! They stuck you, your eyes opened wide and you dropped that pacy and screamed. Needless to say, momma cried too! You only cried for a minute. Daddy picked you up and you quieted down real quick! Then, I fed you, which always makes you happy, and you were smiling (and sleepy) after that … I’m proud of you, little buddy! You did great!!

Your measurements were great! You weighed 12 pounds, 14.5 ounces (75th percentile) were 24.5 inches long (92nd percentile), and your head was 41 cm (73rd percentile)!! They all commented on how big you were and how much you’d grown! Healthy baby boy!!! We’re so extremely thankful!

Once we got home, you were your sweet self, smiling off and on when you were awake. Mommy was worried about you, but you have done great today! Here’s a smiley picture from “shot day…” We love you so much buddy!!

I just wanted to write you today and tell you how amazing your daddy is!!! I don’t believe there is a better dad in the whole world! Your daddy loves you more than you can imagine. I love watching him with you. I’ve never seen anything like it!

Daddy is an amazing man, and loves Jesus, me (your mommy) and you so much! I’m so thankful for him, and I know, when you’re old enough to understand, you will be so very thankful to have your daddy by your side. I know you’re already thankful now, even if you can’t verbalized it yet. You light up when your daddy comes in the room!

Your daddy will always love you and be there for you. He will always put God first and he will show you, by his example, how a real man does that! He will teach you so much about life, and you are such a blessed boy to have Brandon Whedbee as your daddy!!

I pray and believe you will have a strong relationship and bond with your daddy. I know you will! I cant wait to watch you guys talk, play, laugh and grow together. I cant wait to see daddy teach you to throw a ball!

I know there will be days when you might be mad with daddy, but you need to know that EVERYTHING he does, he does for your own good! He will always love and protect you, and I know he would do ANYTHING for you!

You need to know that I love your Daddy more than he will ever know, and I know he loves me that way, too! We pray everyday that we will be good examples for you and that God will daily give us the wisdom to raise you in His image and for His purpose. God has an amazing purpose that only you can do, my sweet boy, and daddy and I can’t wait to watch you find it!

Remember, your daddy can teach you things that I never could, and He loves you so much! And remember how much I love you too, sweet boy! You are truly a gift from God, a joy and a blessing! A true miracle right here in our arms!

Dear Anderson,

You grabbed the ball for the FIRST time yesterday, all by yourself! It was insane. We’ve been watching you checking out your hands (for a few days now) and you are realizing they are yours to use. It’s so funny! We’ve been putting the ball in your hand, and yesterday, when I held it up in front of you, you got it all by yourself! It took you a few tries, but you did it several times! I’m so proud of you!! Then, we showed daddy what you could do when he came home!! He was proud, too!

We found orange and blue distressed scrapbook paper to put over the letters. First, you paint them with acrylic paint, then glue scrapbook paper to them (after using a craft knife to cut out the letter from the paper), and decorate with embellishments and such! Very exciting!

I hope to get back into a routine with blogging, but for now, I’ll leave a quick note.

As I mentioned in my earlier blog, I started at Community School of Davidson last week and am loving it.  The students come back this week and I’m excited.  We met the amazing families and parents today at open house (and had met some of them already this past week).  I can’t wait to start off this week!

I hope to write something with some “meat” to it soon!  My eyes are pretty heavy right now, so I better get off here before I fall asleep on the keyboard! LOL

Until next time … I’ll leave you with this quote that my wonderful husband found and has been reminding us (as a worship ministry at CCC) of lately.  It was written to apply to corporate worship, but it also applies to our lives every single day … We should strive to be “authentic in our purpose and transparent in our presentation.”  Read that again – it’s EXTREMELY powerful! We should strive to be “authentic in our purpose and transparent in our presentation.“ As a worship ministry at CCC, and as Christ-followers, we should strive every day, not just on Sunday mornings, to be “authentic in our purpose” – meaning we should be REAL … and “transparent in our presentation” – meaning when others look at us, either on stage on Sunday morning, or in our daily lives, they should see past “us” and be directed to our Heavenly Father!  Now THAT means something to me!  May we, as a worship ministry at CCC, lead others to the throne of our Heavenly Father every Sunday morning, and may our everyday lives, everything we say and do, reflect Christ’s love.  May we live LIVES of worship!  May we strive to be more like HIM!

Well – didn’t mean to get that “lengthy,” but when Brandon shared that, I thought it was great ….  Glad Brandon shared that word with us.  Thank you sweetheart.

K – I’m really going now …

When we got back from California, it was a whirlwind and I honestly haven’t had the time!  I hope to start blogging more regularly again very soon.

Here’s a quick update:

-  I start my new job TOMORROW!!!!  Time flew by and now it’s here, and I’m SO READY.  I enjoyed my time off very much, but I’m ready for this new chapter and I’m ready for a new “routine.”  I’ll be working as a teacher assistant at The Community School of Davidson.  I’m super excited and ready to start the school year!!!  I’m sure I’ll have a lot to post about that soon.

-  I started my second “job” a few weeks ago … I’m officially a “Pampered Chef Consultant” now!  It just goes to show you don’t have to be a fabulous cook to do the Pampered Chef thing!  But I’m learning pretty quickly.  I had a pretend show for Brandon on Friday (bless his heart – what a great husband) and it went pretty well.  I’m ready for some shows now, I think!

-  Brandon is doing very well!  Very busy getting back into the swing of things after a break this summer.  Band/Choir practice started back this past Tuesday and it was WONDERFUL to be back with everyone!  We’re looking forward to a GREAT season!  We’re VERY excited about the Night of Worship on September 18th!  ”This is Our God” will be a great night of worshipping our Saviour!  Can’t wait!  EVERYONE is invited!

-  Brandon is also busy playing softball … He just finished one league and started a new one tonight.  I love going to watch his games!  He really enjoys it, and he’s a great ball player, too!

-  We’re really enjoying married life and we feel very blessed!!!  I absolutely adore my wonderful husband!

I’m sure I missed a LOT, but I guess this is enough for now!  Hopefully I can get back into a better blogging routine soon!
